CloudSmiths is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer to enhance their platform engineering team. This role focuses on architecting and managing secure, scalable cloud environments for enterprise clients, primarily using Google Cloud Platform.
CloudSmiths is on the lookout for a Lead DevOps Engineer to join their platform engineering practice. In this role, you will not only maintain cloud environments but also architect and scale them to ensure reliability, performance, and security for a variety of enterprise clients. Your primary focus will be on Google Cloud Platform, where you will design and deploy secure GCP Landing Zones that act as the foundation for clients' cloud journeys.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include acting as the technical authority for DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices. You will standardize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles across the organization, utilizing tools like Terraform and Ansible for secure deployments. Additionally, you will lead initiatives for monitoring and observability, ensuring that system health is proactively managed using tools such as Grafana and Prometheus.
The ideal candidate will have over seven years of experience in DevOps or Cloud Engineering, with at least two years in a leadership role. You should possess deep knowledge of GCP, Kubernetes, and Docker, along with strong scripting skills in languages like Python or Go. A degree in IT or Computer Science, along with relevant Google Cloud certifications, will be advantageous.
