How to read this list
The number after each skill is the count of active SA tech listings where that skill appears as a must-have. The percentage compares this 30 days to the previous 30 days — so a +50% means demand has half-again-ed since last month.
We deliberately exclude soft skills like "communication" and "team player" — those appear on every listing and skew the data. This is a hard-skills ranking.
What this doesn't tell you
- Salary. A skill being common doesn't mean it pays well — there are many SQL roles but the range is enormous.
- Future demand. This is right now. Some skills are hot today and cooling fast.
- What to learn first. If you're early career, breadth often beats depth — getting comfortable with two or three of these usually opens more doors than mastering one.
