About Get a Job in Tech

Who built this, why, and what we're trying to fix about the SA tech job-hunt experience.

Get a Job in Tech is a small, opinionated job board for South African tech roles. It exists because the alternatives are either generic global boards that bury SA listings, or local boards that haven't updated their UX since 2008.

What we do differently

  • Cleaned listings. Every job is rewritten in plain English. No "rockstars", no "ninjas", no "synergistic team players".
  • Honest flags. We surface "green flags" (genuinely positive signals) and "orange flags" (caveats worth knowing) on every listing.
  • Skill clarity. Must-have vs nice-to-have skills are separated so you know what's actually required.
  • Freshness. Every listing is rescraped daily. Old listings get archived, not left up to look impressive.

How it works under the hood

Each morning at 04:00 SAST a scraper pulls fresh listings from PNet, Indeed SA, and OfferZen. Those listings flow through an AI enrichment step that summarises the role, extracts skills, and identifies signals. The result lands in our database and renders here.

We don't host the original listings (that wouldn't be fair to the source boards or the employers). When you click Apply, you go to the source listing — we're a traffic driver, not a destination.

Who's behind this

Built by creategoodcontent.com. The goal is to make SA tech hiring feel less like wading through corporate-speak and more like reading a useful summary written by a friend who actually understands the role.

What we'd love feedback on

If a listing is misclassified, if a summary misses the point, or if you spot a job that shouldn't be live — email hello@creategoodcontent.com. We read every message and fix things fast.
